Difference between Joining and Blending in Tableau Desktop explained.
Note: Cross database (DB) join is used when you join tables which are in 2 different databases. Google Analytics does not support Cross DB join. In this case, we use blending.
Blending is useful if:
Cross DB join is not supported.
Tables have different level of detail. (here, join makes duplicate data hence we use blending)
Data needs cleaning.
When data is large, blending is faster.
